Townsend joins The Mill to support small business development in Northwest TN
The Mill is thrilled to welcome Dyersburg native Rachel Townsend as its new Community Manager. Townsend brings a strong passion for supporting small businesses and is eager to help them succeed in Northwest Tennessee.

Her years of experience in journalism, media, nonprofits, and her own entrepreneurship journey will prove to be valuable assets to bring to the work that we do for budding entrepreneurs in Northwest Tennessee.”
As the owner of her own entrepreneurial venture, Pioneer Photography, Townsend understands the challenges of launching and growing a business. With over a decade of experience in media and marketing, she is excited to apply her expertise to advance The Mill’s mission of fostering business growth in the region.
Townsend graduated from Dyersburg State Community College in 2012 with an A.S. in General Studies and an A.A.S. in Technology. She later earned a degree in Professional Writing with a minor in Journalism from the University of Memphis.
In addition to her professional background, Townsend is an active member of the WRTC Guild, Sigma Tau Delta, and the American Business Women’s Association. A passionate advocate for animal rights, she volunteers as the enrichment manager of Paws to Care’s canine program and serves on the Board of Directors for the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society.
About The Mill Workspace: The Mill Workspace, a DBA of Northwest Tennessee Entrepreneurship, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 entrepreneur center located in Dyersburg, TN and focused on serving entrepreneurs in the nine counties of Northwest Tennessee. They help businesses through one-on-one counseling, workshops, and multi-week programs all designed to help businesses in the region start up and grow.
