Dyersburg, TN—June 6, 2025—This week’s Friday Food Truck feature brings more than a delicious menu; it brings a story of growth and grit. Daisy Danes food truck founded and operated by Christy Danes of Martin, TN, is serving breakfast and lunch and we can assure you that it’s the kind of comfort food that feeds more than just your stomach.
Following the loss of her husband Nick in 2022, Christy Dane began looking for something new, something that would provide both financial stability and a sense of purpose. Though she’d spent years in real estate, Christy’s journey took an unexpected turn with the launch of Daisy Danes, a food truck known for mini donuts, smoothies, frappes and the occasional smoked BBQ special, just for Nick.
“It’s been an adjustment,” Christy said when asked how she juggles her two jobs. “But I raised four kids, so I've worked harder.”
Christy was inspired by her late husband’s long-term goal of opening a BBQ trailer, she took that dream and made it her own. By early 2024, Daisy Danes was officially a go. By June, the truck was on the road.
Daisy Danes is known for its vibrant aesthetic, mini donuts, and extensive drink menu that wows customers. The drinks include various flavors of smoothies and frappes, all of which are sugar-free and vegan-friendly.
“The caramel frappe and strawberry shortcake donuts have a tie for my favorite menu items, but the strawberry shortcake donuts are our best seller,” said Christy.
While donuts and fun drinks are the constant, they are also known for changing it up with specials like wraps, Doritos tacos, chili dogs, chili dogs, burgers, and of course The Dane’s smoked BBQ. Savory surprises are in the works, keep an eye out for hot dog variations and avocado toast coming soon.
Daisy Danes is a community effort. The truck is run with the help of Christy's close friends and family. Even while managing a full-time career in real estate, Christy says the truck gives her more than a second income but a greater purpose.
Looking forward, Christy dreams of taking her truck national. Her long-term goal is to take her truck to every state in the country –– especially the states that have beaches. “I just want to see my little donut truck on the beach,” said Christy.
