Dyersburg, TN - December 4, 2025 - Roy Boy’s BBQ has become a local favorite in Dyersburg, TN. Founded in 2018 by owner Roy Quinn, the business started as a mobile food truck and later expanded into a full brick-and-mortar restaurant at 2250 St. John Ave, which opened in March 2021.
Quinn says the idea of running a food truck had been on his mind for years before he finally decided to go for it. He credits much of his early success to the support of his family, who encouraged him every step of the way.
“It was sink or swim,” said Quinn.
What really sets Roy Boy’s BBQ apart is its distinctive flavor profile. Before launching the business, Quinn spent years at Southern Pride Smokers building and programming smokers. He says that experience directly shaped the quality of his BBQ, knowledge that continues to draw in loyal customers.
The most popular menu item? The loaded BBQ potato. Quinn’s personal favorite, though, is the ribs.
Every flavor on the menu has been carefully crafted and intentionally selected.
Looking ahead, Quinn hopes to continue growing, whether that means expanding into a larger restaurant or opening a second location.
His favorite part of being a business owner?
“There’s no ceiling,” replied Quinn. “There is no limit to how much I can grow.”
