Squatch BBQ owner Jason Foust has not only started his own food truck business but also has a line of sauces and rubs available online.

Martin, TN - February 16, 2026 - Jason Foust isn’t just cooking barbecue anymore. He’s chasing a dream, full-time. The Martin, Tennessee native and founder of Squatch BBQ and Catering has been quietly building something one plate at a time. Alongside his 17-year-old son, Jacob Rogers, Foust has turned a passion for barbecue into a growing mobile operation with flavor that keeps people coming back.

The journey started in 2019 with Foust’s first BBQ competition. What began as a hobby turned serious, pushing him past backyard cookouts and into the competitive barbecue circuit, eventually leading him to Fort Worth, Texas, where he competed in the SCA World Championship X in 2024, earning a strong 27th-place finish among some of the best in the world.

By 2022, Foust was ready to take another leap. He bought a food truck and officially took Squatch BBQ on the road. What started at small local stops soon grew into a steady business built on consistency, quality, and bold flavor. As demand grew, so did the brand, leading to the launch of Squatch BBQ’s own sauces and rubs, now available online at squatchseasonings.com.

For Foust, the food truck life is about more than just barbecue. “It’s about the journey,” he says. “The people I’ve met, the stories I’ve heard, the connections I’ve made—it’s all part of it.”

After more than ten years in a traditional career, Foust recently made the biggest decision of his life. He stepped away from the day job and committed fully to Squatch BBQ. The choice didn’t come easy. “It scared me to death,” he admits. “But after a lot of prayer and reflection, I knew it was time. I believe in what we’re doing. I believe in the quality. And I believe the customers will keep coming back.”

At the end of the day, Foust says the greatest reward of small business ownership is controlling his own destiny and doing it his way.
